What reviewers say

TechRadar and Tom's Guide found the Premier approachable and liked its guided dosing, espresso and automatic milk preparation. Tom's Guide enjoyed cold foam but found bean changes awkward; TechRadar had poorer results with oat milk and cold foam and found little taste difference between several coffee styles. Both tested the earlier US Premier supplied without a single basket; those basket limitations are not applied to the current UK kit, which lists one.

Brewing

Type: Espresso
Integrated grinder: Yes
Grind settings: 25
Milk system: Automatic steam wand
Coffee and capsule compatibility: Semi-automatic portafilter machine; the user moves the basket from the grinding cradle to the group head and tamps espresso by hand. Bean-to-cup marketing does not mean automatic extraction from hopper to cup.
Drinks and brewing modes: Current UK page advertises four espresso styles and Classic, Rich, Over Ice and Cold Brew coffee styles, with seven coffee sizes and four milk presets. Available selections depend on basket and version.
Temperature control: UK manual offers Low, Medium and High brew and milk temperatures without numerical degrees. No precise extraction temperature is inferred.
Grinder: Integrated conical burr grinder with 25 selectable settings; Barista Assist recommends a grind setting based on drink and subsequent extraction.
Dosing and tamping: Integrated scale measures the coffee dose. Separate assisted tamper and funnel are supplied; coffee modes use the Luxe basket without espresso-style tamping, as directed by the UK manual.
Portafilter and baskets: Current UK silver, black and Cyber Space pages include single, double and Luxe baskets. The older manual warns that single baskets are not compatible with every version; earlier US reviews' missing single basket does not establish its absence from current UK kits.
Milk preparation: Dual Froth System steams and whisks milk in the supplied jug; steamed milk, thin froth, thick froth and cold foam presets support dairy or plant-based selection. Return the steam wand to its storage position for automatic purge; manual frothing is described in the UK manual.
Cold drinks: Cold Brew and cold-pressed espresso are named rapid modes, distinct from Over Ice. The manual requires ice in the vessel; these modes are not overnight immersion cold brewing.

Capacity

Water tank: 2 L
Water supply: Exact ES601UK manual specifies a removable 2 L reservoir; test water hardness and follow descaling prompts.
Cup sizes and clearance: Seven maker coffee sizes from 175 to 530 ml; concentrated cold or over-ice modes dispense less liquid than the nominal cup size. Adjustable cup tray and removable centre drip tray accommodate different vessels.

Design and power

Controls and profiles: Buttons and dials select grinding, brew style, size, strength, froth, milk type, cleaning and purge; integrated accessory storage holds the tamper, funnel and spare parts.
Electrical requirements: Original ES601UK UK manual specifies 220–240 V, 50–60 Hz and 1,800 W, while the current maker silver table lists 1,650 W. Headline power is omitted pending resolution. Eco mode disables the boiler after brewing; this is not proof of whole-machine automatic shutdown.
Size and weight: Current UK marketing states height 37.2, width 33.6 and length 34.4 cm with 17 kg, while its structured table gives 50.8 cm height, 38.71 cm width, 40.41 cm length and 11.77 kg. The unlabelled conflict is preserved here; neither set is assumed to be body-only measurements.
Included accessories: Current UK kit lists portafilter, three baskets, assisted tamper, funnel, milk jug with whisk, cleaning brush/disc, descaling powder and hardness strip. Finish and promotional kit contents can vary.
Cleaning and maintenance: Clean used baskets and portafilter, wipe the steam wand promptly, empty the drip tray and run prompted cleaning/descaling cycles. Manual explains that purge and pressure-control water fill the drip tray during ordinary operation.
Regional availability: Exact UK black ES601UKBK and Cyber Space ES601UKCY purchase fragments have enabled Add to Cart, checked October 2026; local delivery conditions apply. Silver ES601UK currently offers Notify Me and is explicitly out of stock, despite remaining listed.
Release and generation details: Maker pages read do not establish worldwide first retail sale; the original manual's copyright or upload date is not a launch date.
