What reviewers say

Both tests produced good espresso and textured milk after adjusting grind and dose. TechRadar found the controls approachable but needed several trial shots, found grinding and steaming noisy and preparation messy; its test used the thermal-indicator jug. Expert Reviews liked the build and manual control but found steaming slow to build and the grinder awkward to use with other coffee equipment. These earlier tests predate the current included dosing funnel.

Dosing and tamping
Adjustable timed automatic or manual grinding; removable magnetic tamper, Razor trimming tool and dosing funnel. User tamps and transfers the portafilter to the group head.
Milk preparation
Manual steam wand. BES875 configuration supplies a thermal-indicator jug; this does not make steaming automatic. Wipe and purge after each use.

Electrical requirements
UK pages specify 1850 W appliance power; BES875 additionally states 1600 W Thermocoil, while its UK manual rates 1560–1850 W, 220–240 V, 50 Hz. BES875 manual specifies 30-minute auto-off; current BES870 linked safety guide does not specify a timeout.
Size and weight
BES875 configurations use the exact UK table W31.8 × D35.1 × H40.4 cm. BES870 table lists 40.5 × 33.4 × 31.6 cm under WxDxH; main dimensions remain omitted because its axes conflict with those of the thermal-jug listing.
Included accessories
54 mm portafilter, single/double single-wall and dual-wall baskets, magnetic tamper, Razor tool, dosing funnel, milk jug, cleaning disc/tablets/tools and water filter.
Cleaning and maintenance
Cleaning/descaling procedure and steam-wand cleaning; empty drip tray when indicator rises and maintain filter.
