MacBook Neo is a fanless 13-inch macOS laptop with an A18 Pro processor, 8 GB of unified memory and a choice of 256 GB or 512 GB storage. The 512 GB model adds Touch ID.
RTINGS and Notebookcheck praise the solid aluminium construction, sharp and accurate sRGB display, comfortable keyboard and responsive trackpad. Both find performance suitable for everyday work and light editing, with silent operation and good battery life. They criticise the fixed 8 GB memory, limited ports and lack of keyboard backlighting. Notebookcheck notes that battery life falls substantially at higher screen brightness; RTINGS finds demanding games and heavy multitasking beyond its strengths.
One USB-C port supports USB 3 up to 10 Gb/s and DisplayPort 1.4; the other supports USB 2 up to 480 Mb/s. Both charge the laptop. No Thunderbolt-only device support; 3.5 mm headphone jack
External displays
One external display up to 4K at 60 Hz alongside the built-in display, through the USB 3 port
Keyboard
Magic Keyboard with 78 ANSI or 79 ISO keys and 12 full-height function keys; no backlight (RTINGS and Notebookcheck)
Trackpad
Mechanical Multi-Touch trackpad, without Force Touch (Notebookcheck)
Speakers
Dual side-firing speakers; Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos
Microphones
