The 14-inch MacBook Pro with M5 Pro or M5 Max puts Apple's pro chips, Thunderbolt 5 and up to 128GB of memory in the 14-inch body, suited to developers, photographers and video editors who need more performance or memory than the base M5 model offers.
Reviewers praise the speed, the excellent mini-LED screen, speakers, ports and long battery life, and Frandroid found the M5 Pro model faultless. The common criticism is the high price of well-specified models; Notebookcheck found the 14-inch chassis can't cool the M5 Max, which throttled, ran its fans loud and outpaced the charger, and recommends the M5 Pro for this size.
1,000,000:1 contrast; 1,000 nits sustained full-screen XDR brightness; ProMotion up to 120 Hz, with fixed 47.95, 48, 50, 59.94 and 60 Hz rates; True Tone
