AVForums and Stuff praised the Q80R's bright, colourful 4K HDR picture, wide viewing angles and Tizen interface. AVForums found its local dimming could suppress small highlights and crush some shadow detail; Stuff noted occasional motion smearing but liked the built-in sound. Both noted the lack of Dolby Vision.
