What reviewers say

The 55-inch What Hi-Fi? and TechRadar reviews praise natural, detailed pictures, motion, upscaling and unusually capable TV sound. Both find the price high and HDMI connectivity restrictive. Their missing VRR criticism describes launch firmware; current Sony specifications confirm VRR. What Hi-Fi? also hears distortion at very high volume.

Four HDMI inputs: one side and three bottom. HDMI 3/4 support 4K 120 Hz, VRR and ALLM; eARC shares one of these inputs. HDCP 2.3. Current maker table confirms VRR after firmware; both launch-era reviews describe it as unavailable.
Game features
PlayStation 5 Auto HDR Tone Mapping and Auto Genre Picture Mode after software updates. Launch-era review reports about missing VRR and UK catch-up apps are historical findings, not current specification claims.
