AVForums' KD-65A8 test and What Hi-Fi's KD-55A8 test praised the natural picture, motion and unusually clear built-in sound. AVForums found some near-black flashing and posterisation with low-bitrate material, while What Hi-Fi found bright objects on dark scenes less punchy than on the LG GX; both noted the missing next-generation gaming HDMI features.
