What reviewers say

HDTVTest and TechRadar praise the 55-inch W905A's colour, contrast and sharp HD picture. Both find the viewing angle limited. HDTVTest measures low input lag in Game mode but finds the NFC mirroring laggy; TechRadar likes the sound and video services while noting the limited smart interface and some 3D crosstalk.

Display

Panel: LED LCD
Panel detail: Edge-lit LED LCD with Sony's Triluminos quantum-dot colour system and LED Dynamic Control. Sony's Motionflow XR 800 Hz is a motion-processing designation, not a separately verified native refresh rate.
Resolution: 1920 × 1080 (Full HD)
HDR formats: None
Colour range: Sony's Triluminos Display uses quantum dots for a wider colour gamut; HDTVTest found the Live Colour high settings oversaturated its 55-inch review sample.
Picture processing: X-Reality PRO, Motionflow XR 800, 24p True Cinema, Live Colour and LED Dynamic Control. Motionflow's 800 Hz figure is not used as native panel refresh.
Picture modes: Cinema 1/2, Standard, Vivid, Game, Graphics, Sports, Animation and Photo modes in Sony's UK sheets.
Motion handling: HDTVTest measured 850–1080 lines of motion resolution with Motionflow engaged on KDL-55W905ABU, versus 300 without it; these are measured motion-resolution lines, not refresh Hz.
Viewing angle: HDTVTest observed washout beyond roughly 20° off axis on its 55-inch UK sample; TechRadar also found side viewing limited.
