What reviewers say

Reviewers agree the fourth-generation 1 Series handles well for a family hatchback and has a solid, upmarket cabin. The common criticisms are a firm ride on rough British roads, a small boot and tight rear seats, and a limited choice of engines; Autocar and Auto Express found the infotainment a step back or laggy.
