What reviewers say
Reviewers agree the updated Octavia remains a spacious, practical, comfortable and good-value family car that is easy and relaxing to drive. It is competent rather than engaging; What Car? found it noisier than a VW Golf and unsettled by sharp bumps, and Autocar found the entry 114bhp petrol needs working hard and can struggle for pace at motorway speeds.
1.5-litre four-cylinder TSI petrol (116 or 150 PS; e-TEC versions add a 48V mild hybrid), 2.0-litre TDI diesel (116 or 150 PS), 2.0-litre TSI (265 PS, vRS); bhp converted from Škoda's PS figures
600 litres with the rear seats up, 1,555 litres folded; an Octavia Estate is also sold
