Reviewers agree the Defender 110 is supremely capable off road yet comfortable and composed on it, with a spacious, solidly finished cabin, and What Car? and Autocar rate the smooth, torquey diesels. The common criticisms are the high price, especially with options, its size in town and high running costs; Parkers found the plug-in hybrid off the pace.
