What reviewers say

Computer Bild's Lennart Gotta and Connect's Monika Klein independently tested the KBGT in 2024 and liked its coffee, straightforward operation and thermal carafe. Computer Bild found brewing quiet and cleaning generally easy, though the tall carafe was awkward to scrub. Connect found the number of separate parts made cleaning more involved. These earlier tests do not establish the current glass-lined carafe's precise heat-retention claim.

Milk system
None
Coffee and capsule compatibility
Filter coffee from ground beans; no integrated grinder or milk system. Automatic drip stop pauses flow when the carafe is removed.
Heating system
Copper heating element and nine-hole water outlet; thermal carafe replaces the glass-jug model's hotplate.
Temperature control
Maker specifies a 92–96°C brewing-water range, not an adjustable user temperature.
Brewing conditions
Maker quotes a full jug in six minutes. Manual recommends 60 g of ground coffee per litre and pre-rinsing the thermal jug with hot water.

Capacity

Water tank
1.25 L
Carafe capacity (maker's cups)
10
Water supply
Fixed 1.25 L water container; fill with a separate clean vessel, as the manual recommends.
Carafe
Current maker listing specifies a stainless-steel outer jug with a glass inner bottle. For a full jug, the maker claims 80°C for up to three hours and 50°C after eight hours. The current listing also says the machine accepts the older 1.25 L thermal jug.
Cup sizes and clearance
Ten cups is the maker's capacity designation; it does not mean ten large mugs.

Weight

Rated power

Controls and profiles
Single on/off switch and water-level markings; no KBG Select half-jug flow selector.
Electrical requirements
Current UK and EU product tables list 1,450 W and 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz. UK page advertises a UK plug but its generic feature paragraph incorrectly labels Type E/F. Shutdown is unresolved; the page says both ten and forty minutes, while the shared manual describes brew stopping when empty and a small indicator remaining lit until switched off. Automatic-shutdown headline is omitted.
Size and weight
Maker dimensions are height 41, width 33 and depth 17 cm; weight 2.9 kg.
Included accessories
Thermal jug, filter basket and lid, water-container lid, nine-hole outlet arm, coffee scoop, manual and three starter filters.
Cleaning and maintenance
Manual recommends descaling every 100 cycles or at least every three months; clean the thermal jug by soaking with suitable detergent, brushing and rinsing. Avoid treating brew completion as proof that mains power is off.
Water filters
Uses No. 4 paper filters; kit lists three starter filters.
Materials and warranty
Handmade in the Netherlands; maker publishes a five-year warranty and individually available replacement parts, subject to its warranty exclusions.
Regional availability
Current exact UK-plug Polished Silver SKU, EAN 8712072794115, is in stock with Add to Cart on the maker's EU store, checked October 2026. Shipping destination and delivery conditions apply; EU Type E/F version is separately listed.
Release and generation details
Current pages do not establish KBGT's first retail-sale date; the company's 1968 origin is not this model's launch date.
