What reviewers say

Both tests find high sharpness, effective stabilisation and useful close-up capability, with wide-angle vignetting still noticeable. Bob Atkins sees focus shift mainly as a limitation for flat macro subjects. OpticalLimits finds it more serious and weak macro sharpness at f/4, but reports Canon repaired its sample without a retest. Both praise the solid construction and comparatively compact size.
