What reviewers say

Both reviewers find pronounced wide-angle distortion and zoom creep. ePHOTOzine considers it a useful travel compromise with good sharpness and four-stop stabilisation. Photozone finds soft wide-angle and telephoto borders, stronger colour fringing and around three stops of stabilisation in practice, recommending alternatives for its EOS 50D. They also differ on build quality, from average to good.
