What reviewers say

Both consider it a practical lightweight travel zoom for a limited budget, with useful range but optical compromises. Both note wide-angle corner shading and construction choices that keep the price down. OpticalLimits highlights reliance on software corrections and criticises the plastic mount, which Amateur Photographer considers acceptable. OpticalLimits finds good sharpness across most of the range with weaker results at 105mm; Amateur Photographer prefers stopping down at wider settings and finds the long end usable wide open. Both criticise omission of the hood. Amateur Photographer particularly likes the prompt, quiet focusing.
