What reviewers say
TechRadar and Stuff praise the 42-inch set's deep blacks, natural colour, Freeview and DVD pictures, and value. TechRadar notes some orange-looking reds, judder during HD camera pans and modest speaker power, whereas Stuff describes Blu-ray motion as smooth. Both discuss 24 fps playback, which the exact UK input table does not specify.

- UK TH-37PX70B has 1024 × 720 native pixels, TH-42PX70B has 1024 × 768 and TH-50PX70B has 1366 × 768. The accepted 1080p signal is scaled to the panel. Neither the maker's listed PC scanning frequencies nor mains frequency establish native panel refresh.

- Two HDMI Type A inputs with VIERA Link HDAVI Control 2. The UK manual lists 480i/p, 576i/p, 720p/50 and /60, 1080i/50 and /60, and 1080p/50 and /60 inputs. It does not list 1080p/24, though both reviews discuss it. Also two SCART sockets with RGB, component video and D-sub PC input; PC signal timing is not native panel refresh.

HDTVTest found a UK 42-inch retailer with stock on 14 March 2007; Panasonic's Japanese PX70 without the B suffix is a regional variant and its later sale date is not used here.
