What Hi-Fi? and TechRadar praised the LE40A656's sharp HD pictures, appealing rose-black design and useful connections. TechRadar found motion handling and black levels strong for its time, while What Hi-Fi? saw a trade-off between deep blacks and shadow detail and noticed a slight red cast to skin tones.
