What reviewers say

Both like the approachable menus, compact construction and image quality, but warn about older lenses losing autofocus and common settings requiring extra button presses. Camera Labs finds substantially higher resolved detail than the D40, while Photo Review measures only a modest resolution gain. Both question paying more for extra pixels when the basic three-point autofocus and limited direct controls remain.
