Supported signal modesApple specifies a 640 × 480 analogue signal at 66.7 Hz vertical and 35 kHz horizontal scan. Factory-adjusted active video area is 235 × 176 mm. These signal figures are not a fixed native pixel matrix or native panel refresh.Current maker support lists 640 × 480 at 60 or 66.7 Hz and 800 × 600 at 60 or 72 Hz. Original model M3935LL/A does not support 832 × 624; Service Source documents a November 1995 upgrade programme to Revision B supporting 832 × 624 at 75 Hz on eligible computers. October 1995 Apple Facts already lists that mode, qualified by computer support; it is not assigned to the original revision. These are analogue signal modes, not native resolution or refresh. Original scan range 31.5–48.1 kHz horizontal and 60–72 Hz vertical.
Connections
Video inputs–DA-15

Other connectionsIntegrated high-density monitor cable carries RGB video, audio and Apple Desktop Bus signals. AudioVision Adapter Kit M1243LL/A breaks it out for Macintosh computers with separate connectors; Apple required this adapter for all modular Macintosh models available on 1 August 1993. Two ADB ports and a stereo line/microphone input are on the display. The S-Video socket was reserved for future use; Apple later corrected the owner guide and confirms that pass-through through the monitor is unsupported, including with Quadra 660AV/840AV and Power Macintosh AV. Use the computer AV card input instead. No native DA-15 socket is inferred from the optional adapter.Attached Macintosh DA-15 video cable; exact-model EveryMac specifies DB-15 and the two-row connector is visible in Ben Boldt's exact-model photograph. Service Source describes a 15-pin miniature D-type cable with separate sync; VGA/SVGA signal compatibility does not add a second physical VGA connector.
Audio outStereo headphone/external-speaker output. AudioVision software selects headphone or external-speaker behaviour.Front headphone jack; Service Source identifies one audio input and one pass-through headphone/speaker output. Headphone insertion mutes the internal speakers.
Speaker detailTwo full-range speakers in a tuned-port bass-reflex chamber; maker frequency response is 100 Hz–15 kHz ±3 dB. TIL12724 calls 90 dB SPL at 1 kHz at 0.5 m maximum loudness, while Service Source calls it minimum loudness; the conflicting condition is retained rather than presented as a measured output.Integrated front stereo speakers; Service Source publishes minimum 500 mW per speaker with 0.707 V RMS input and response ±3 dB from 100 Hz to 20 kHz. Maker description and Apple Facts confirm audio despite EveryMac's conflicting no-audio table entry.
Webcam detailNo integrated camera. Directional microphone above the display is intended for voice and speech-recognition applications. Software and compatible computer hardware provide those functions.–

Size with standCurrent Apple support gives 15.2 × 13.4 × 16.6 inches (height × width × depth); original TIL12724 also gives 38.5 × 34 × 42 cm. Service Source instead gives 330 × 344 × 394 mm; no undocumented enclosure revision or stand-exclusion explanation is assumed.Apple Facts publishes 37.8 × 36.5 × 38.6 cm and 14.9 × 14.4 × 15.2 inches (height × width × depth), matching current support's inches. Service Source instead gives 378 × 365 × 380 mm with a differing set of inch values; maker conflicts retained.
Weight detailCurrent Apple support gives 25 lb; original TIL12724 and Service Source instead give 33 lb (15 kg). Main weight is omitted because this exact-model maker conflict remains unresolved.Apple Facts publishes 11.3 kg (25 lb); current support also gives 25 lb. Service Source pairs 25 lb with 13 kg, a conflicting maker metric figure retained here rather than converted or silently selected.
ControlsFront brightness, contrast and volume controls, speaker mute and microphone control; rear on/off switch. AudioVision control panels offer software picture and sound settings.Front power, brightness and contrast controls; horizontal/vertical shift and size controls behind the door. Automatic power-on degauss; maker describes a full degauss after power-off for at least 20 minutes.
Power and support
Power use37 W normal operation and 55 W maximum (TIL12724); current Apple support agrees on 55 W maximum. Energy Saver operation requires a supported Macintosh and software configuration.Maker 80 W maximum; Energy Star low-power mode supported, exact idle consumption unpublished
Power supply100–240 V AC, 47–63 Hz in current support and TIL12724. Service Source instead gives 100–240 V AC ±10%, 50–60 Hz ±3%. These are mains ratings, not display refresh.Current maker support gives regional input ranges 90–132 or 198–264 V AC, 47–63 Hz; Service Source describes 90–132 V AC. Mains frequency is not display refresh.
SoftwareAudioVision software requires System 7.0.1 or later. Version 1.0.2 Read Me qualifies Energy Saver support as Power Macintosh, Quadra, Centris or LC III, 2 MB available RAM and System 7.1 or later. Install AudioVision software after Apple Adjustable Keyboard software to preserve the monitor Sound control panel. The original Apple Microphone does not work in the external microphone input; Apple specifies the PlainTalk microphone. Apple support dates introduction 1 August 1993; September 1993 Apple Directions says the display is shipping, and the Fall 1993 catalogue offers overnight orders. Actual first-sale month remains unresolved, so release precision is year 1993.System software 7.1 or later; supported modes depend on Macintosh video hardware and adapters. Current maker archive dates introduction 15 August 1995, while EveryMac gives 7 August; actual first retail day/month remains unverified, so year 1995 retained. Service Source distinguishes original and Revision B hardware; no assumed direct predecessor or successor. Photograph is Apple's exact model illustration from October 1995 Apple Facts; physical revision not identified by that image.
