What reviewers say

The 1600X delivered strong rendering and encoding performance while keeping gaming close to similarly priced Intel Core i5 processors. Reviewers agreed it suited mixed work and play, although Intel retained advantages in some games. Its main value problem came from AMD's own range; the cheaper, overclockable Ryzen 5 1600 included a cooler, and an eight-core 1700 was attractive for heavier work.
