What reviewers say

Reviews of the original GDDR6X card find RTX 3080-like performance in a smaller, cooler, quieter and more efficient card, well suited to 1440p. They welcome DLSS frame generation where supported, but question the price above the RTX 3070, the 12 GB memory limit and modest generational progress in raw performance.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • 200 W total graphics power; NVIDIA asks for a 650 W power supply
  • Founders Edition is a two-slot card, 244 mm long
  • DLSS 3 Frame Generation and eighth-generation NVENC with AV1

Cons

  • 12 GB of video memory on a 192-bit bus
  • Later cards use GDDR6 instead of GDDR6X; check which when buying
  • DisplayPort 1.4a outputs and PCIe 4.0; no DLSS Multi Frame Generation
