MacBook Pro 14″ (M5)

Released October 2025

The 14-inch MacBook Pro with the base M5 chip is Apple's entry-level pro laptop, adding a 120Hz mini-LED XDR display, HDMI and SD card ports and longer rated battery life over the Air, for creators and power users who don't need M5 Pro or M5 Max.

What reviewers say

Reviewers agree the M5 brings much faster graphics and storage to a well-built design with an excellent screen, keyboard, speakers and ports. The common criticisms are the unchanged design and older Wi-Fi 6E and Thunderbolt 4 connections; Notebookcheck found the single fan loud under full load, and Macworld and Notebookcheck note that it comes without a charger in some regions, including the UK.
