What reviewers say

Both praise the compact build, quiet autofocus and strong sharpness, with low colour fringing and modest barrel distortion. Both find noticeable corner shading at f/1.8. ePHOTOzine finds its strongest overall resolution around f/4–5.6, while Digital Camera World finds very good corners even wide open. Both see it as a more manageable alternative to heavier f/1.4 primes; ePHOTOzine notes a lightly damped manual focus ring.
