Both praise its sharpness, construction, customisable controls and fast, quiet autofocus, while noting its greater size, weight and cost beside the 24–70mm f/4 S. Photography Blog finds smooth background blur, little colour fringing and good balance on the Z6 and Z7, though shading remains visible at wide apertures. Digital Camera World finds exceptional centre resolution and strong edges, with 70mm corners improving most when stopped down. It finds the OLED useful indoors but harder to read in daylight, and notes that the f/4 lens focuses closer. Both see the f/2.8 model as best suited to photographers who need its wider aperture and additional controls.
