What reviewers say

Mobile-review and The Register praise the joystick navigation, colour screen and one-handed interface, while finding the camera useful for sharing rather than a substitute for a dedicated camera. Both criticise Bluetooth limitations and the absence of memory-card expansion. Mobile-review reports short battery life and limits in the bundled organiser applications. The Register finds the interface fast and enjoyable, but reports PC synchronisation problems and email-attachment restrictions. These findings concern the reviewers' original 2002 software and hardware.

Release detail
Announced 19 November 2001 with deliveries planned for Q2 2002. Nokia's 26 June 2002 Finnish press release confirms shipments had begun in Finland; month precision retained because the shipment announcement does not identify an exact first retail day. Archived product page is Dutch; archived model-specific PC Suite support is English and lists Windows 98 SE/ME/2000 SP2/XP and compatible infrared or Bluetooth serial-port connections. Current availability of those historical downloads is unresolved. No direct predecessor assigned without explicit maker evidence.

Bluetooth
Bluetooth 1.1, original English guide. File, picture, contact and calendar transfer, and compatible-PC connections. The guide explicitly excludes Bluetooth Headset and Handsfree audio profiles even when those devices appear during discovery; headset support must not be inferred from Bluetooth availability. Infrared transfer also supported.
