What reviewers say
Both reviews praise the keyboard, sharp display and office tools. GSMArena finds typing easy to learn, while All About Symbian says the split layout takes practice and dislikes the joystick and menu key. GSMArena criticises slow screen rotation on its original firmware; All About Symbian finds later version 2 firmware much faster but still limited by free RAM. Camera judgements differ: GSMArena finds soft stills with little detail, while All About Symbian likes the colours and low noise. Both find video useful for its time.
Active-matrix colour LCD, 352 × 416 native pixels and up to 16 million colours in the exact Nokia service manual. Rotation changes orientation, not pixel count. GSMArena calls it 2 inches; All About Symbian calls it 2.1 inches. Maker physical diagonal not recovered, so no headline diagonal inferred.

Battery life detail
Removable BL-6C; 1150 mAh identified in both independent production reviews. Nokia's exact service manual gives 3.6–7.3 hours GSM or 2.5–3.9 hours WCDMA talk, and 7.2–9.3 days GSM or 7–9.2 days WCDMA standby, depending on network conditions. These are not video-playback claims.
Wired charging
Separate large Nokia charger connector. Exact issue 3 owner guide lists LCH-12, ACP-12 and AC-1 chargers; Pop-Port is the data/accessory connector. No charging wattage inferred.

Weight detail
127 g and 117 × 53 × 22 mm closed in GSMArena's exact-model production review; 127 g independently confirmed by All About Symbian. Maker dimension sheet not recovered.
Materials
Silver plastic housing and mechanical folding split keyboard; numeric-keypad section lifts over the unchanged rigid screen. Not a folding display.
Buttons
Numeric keypad when closed; backlit split QWERTY keyboard with number row, duplicated modifier keys and manual backlight key when open; navigation joystick, menu key and side voice-record button
Speakers
Built-in loudspeaker and mono headset in All About Symbian's tested package; stereo music headset sold separately
Software
Operating system
Symbian
Software at launch
Symbian OS 9.1 with S60 Third Edition in both production reviews
Software features
Exact owner guide covers Word document editing, spreadsheets, presentation editing, PDF reader, ZIP manager, email, web browser and internet calls. All About Symbian's later test uses version 2.0618.07.10 firmware; its faster rotation is not transferred to the earlier GSMArena test. Historical software downloads and online services may no longer operate.
Release detail
Nokia's 19 June 2006 Content Discoverer release explicitly lists E70 among devices already in the global marketplace. Earliest first-sale month remains unresolved, so year precision retained. October 2005 database date is announcement-era information, not used as a sale date. No unsupported predecessor link.
Performance
Memory
GSMArena reports 75 MB internal user storage; All About Symbian describes about 60 MB. No exact maker user-capacity figure recovered, so configurations omit a headline capacity. Free application RAM and physical installed RAM are distinct; no installed-RAM figure inferred from the review's landscape-mode memory use.
Storage type
miniSD, not microSD. Exact owner guide supports FAT16/FAT32 and card removal without switching off or removing the battery. All About Symbian's reviewed package includes a separate 64 MB card; not built-in storage.
Connectivity
Mobile network
E70-1 RM-10 supports EGSM 900/1800/1900 and UMTS 2100 in the exact owner guide. Regional E70-2 RM-24 is a separate GSM 850/1800/1900 EDGE variant in the service manual; not a combined five-band model. No HSDPA support inferred.
Wi-Fi
WLAN access and internet calling in the exact owner guide; no unverified peak speed inferred
Bluetooth
Bluetooth 1.2; exact owner guide lists headset/hands-free, object/file transfer and remote SIM profiles. GSMArena confirms no A2DP stereo audio.
USB
Nokia Pop-Port with PC Suite, mass-storage and IP-passthrough modes in All About Symbian's production test; infrared. No standard micro-USB or headphone socket inferred.
Positioning
No built-in GPS in the exact device layout; optional third-party navigation is not an internal receiver
