What reviewers say

Expert Reviews and FlatpanelsHD praise the deep blacks, even backlight and crisp Full HD picture, and find the redesigned Smart Hub quicker to use. Expert Reviews likes the 55-inch model's 3D presentation, while FlatpanelsHD finds active glasses flicker on its 46-inch test set and considers the preset picture inaccurate. Both note the price; FlatpanelsHD also finds the viewing angle limited.

LED LCD
Panel detail
Edge-lit LED LCD with an Ultra Clear Panel on the UK 55-inch specification. Samsung's 1000 Clear Motion Rate is a processing label, not a native 1000 Hz refresh rate; native Hz was not published in the UK maker table or manual. Active shutter 3D.

Screen finish

3D HyperReal Engine, Micro Dimming Ultimate and Wide Color Enhancer Plus in Samsung's UK 55-inch table. The table says Precision Black local dimming is absent on that size; claims for other sizes are not transferred. Samsung's Korean announcement introduced the F8000 in February 2013 but planned a phased range launch; an exact first-sale month for this UK series is not established.
Picture modes
Movie, Standard and Natural modes in the maker table. Samsung's Cinema Black darkens letterbox bars, as tested on the 55-inch UK review unit.
Motion handling
1000 Clear Motion Rate in the UK 55-inch maker table is not the panel refresh rate.
