What reviewers say

Reviewers agree the new CX-5 is roomier than before, well built and generously equipped for the price. The common criticisms are the only engine, a 2.5-litre petrol judged thrashy and thirsty next to rivals' hybrids, and a cabin that moves almost every control onto the touchscreen; Auto Express and Carwow found it less fun to drive than the previous model.
