The 2024 Mac mini is a 12.7 cm-square desktop with the M4 chip for everyday home and office use or the M4 Pro for developers and creative work that needs more cores, memory and Thunderbolt 5.
Reviewers praise the much smaller redesign, front-facing ports, fast M4 chips, quiet everyday running and 16GB of memory as standard, and Expert Reviews thinks it excellent value. Notebookcheck and Tom's Guide dislike the power button underneath, the 256GB base SSD and expensive memory and storage upgrades, and Notebookcheck found it louder than its predecessor under heavy load.
